The Pin Sheet

Yardage Book

Rules, scoring, and payouts for Brad's Majors Pool

How It Works

  • Pick 6 golfers for each major tournament
  • Your picks must total at least 400 points (higher-ranked golfers cost fewer points)
  • Your score is the combined total of your best 4 of 6 golfers
  • Lower score wins โ€” just like golf

Entry Fee

$55/year โ€” broken down as $10 per major + $10 for cumulative season standings + $5 admin fee. You can join for individual majors mid-season.

Individual Major Scoring

  • Your score = aggregate strokes of your best 4 of 6 golfers
  • If fewer than 4 of your golfers make the cut, you're eliminated for that major
  • Withdrawn or DQ'd golfers count the same as a missed cut โ€” not scored

Bonuses apply to all your golfers who finish top 3, including ties. Bonuses count even if the golfer isn't in your best 4.

Season Cumulative Scoring

Your season score combines results across all four majors:

Season Score = (Sum of Major Rankings) โˆ’ (Your Cut Golfers ร— 2) โˆ’ (Majors Played ร— 10)
  • Each of your golfers who makes the cut earns you -2 toward your season score
  • If you skip a major, you're assigned last place for that major's ranking
  • Lower score wins

Payouts โ€” Top 10

Pot per major = entrants ร— $10. Current Masters pot: $1,250 (125 entrants).

Point Values

Each golfer is assigned a point value based on their odds to win. Favorites cost fewer points, longshots cost more. Your 6 picks must total at least 400 points โ€” this forces real tradeoffs between stacking favorites and finding value.

Deadlines & Late Scratches

  • Picks lock at the first tee time of Round 1
  • If a golfer withdraws before the tournament, the pool admin can swap in a replacement who hasn't teed off
  • Tiebreakers are managed by the pool admin

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I submit my picks?

Go to The Tee Sheet, select 6 golfers totaling at least 400 points, review your picks, and hit Submit. You can also use the "Pick For Me" button for a random valid entry.

What happens if a golfer withdraws?

You'll see a yellow warning on your entry. The pool admin can swap in a replacement who hasn't teed off yet. After the deadline, withdrawals are treated the same as a missed cut.

Can I change my picks?

Yes โ€” you can edit your picks any time before the entry deadline. After that, picks are locked.

How do I pay?

Payment is handled separately via Stripe or Venmo. You can submit picks before paying โ€” the pool admin tracks payment status.

When are picks locked?

Picks lock 1 hour before the first tee time of Round 1. Exact deadlines vary by major and are shown on the Clubhouse page.

How is my score calculated?

Your score is the combined total of your best 4 of 6 golfers. Bonus points are awarded if any of your golfers finish in the top 3. Lower score wins.

What if fewer than 4 of my golfers make the cut?

You're eliminated for that major and score no points.

How do payouts work?

Top 10 places pay out from the major pot. The pot equals the number of entrants ร— $10. See the payout table above for the percentage breakdown.
